The Race to the White House
In the next couple of weeks, the race to the White House will be decided or undecided. The political atmosphere is tensed with each candidate canvassing for support to enable him occupy the White House come January 2009. Eventually, when the die is cast, the winner will take it all while the loser will count his losses: money, energy etc. But alas, this election year in the United States(US)is already very unique and the result will also be spectacular. Not because of the popular election of a black American as a presidential candidate of one of the biggest party in the US but because the unexpected will happen which would change the course of history in the US and the world at large.
What I am talking about is the inconclusive nature the election results(?)would be. The election will be conducted quite alright but the result will be inconclusive thus paving way for the extension of the current President's term until the issue is resolved. In that situation,the economic situation in the US is likely to worsen, war on terror suffer and the world would witness the violation of the constitution in the US. If that happens, your guess is as good as mine. |
